My Reflection

Duncan story:
When he was about 25 years old a sales man came to his house and was
selling burgler alarms. But he would not leave so he was non stop talking
for 2 hours then said you can get a alarm and pay over 3 years any time
you wanted to pay off in full then no charge for the remaining months but
found out later this was not true everything had t be paid because of the
contract he signed.

My Narrative

It was a thermostat breaking icy cold day. The crew was weak and tired,
two months of constant torture on the huge metal beast with its thundering
horns, rumbling engines and the putrid smell of toxic black smoke
contaminating the air. All in sight for miles was ice bergs, the
mysterious blue sea and the deafening sound of his heart beat. "Captain on
deck!!!"
One of the workers screamed out at the top of his lungs,
"Crew when you boarded this ship you knew that you might not have
survived but I must say it has been a pleasure ridding with you men"
After the captain dismissed them, the captain staring out to see and
spotted a giant ice berg ahead and he knew the boat was going too fast to
avoid the ice berg so the captain snuck off and took the life boat. Just
before the ship hit the crew saw the captain "every man for himself" he
yelled to the men on the boat but before they could answer..KABLOOE! And
a tear came to the captain's eye and rolled down his dry rough face. After
a good night sleep the captain awoke on a strange white baron wasteland
with nothing but snow and the thundering sound of his heart beat smashing
in to his ribs. With the only thought rushing though his mind is
"will I survive" but after every tortures second the captain's will to
survive was diminishing rapidly, The captain felt like he was in the
middle of a cyclone with the icy cold wind blowing up his shivering spine
turning his bright green eyes into a into a devilish light blue. For next
two days he was surviving on the flesh of other animals and the warmth of
their thick fur, but this his luck began to run out because shortly after
a pack of snow wolf appeared out of no were. So as quick as Usain Bolt he
ran away without thinking that the pack would see him but..they did so
they chased him as far as he could run but a stroke of luck at last for
the captain just before he ran out of breath he found a abandoned shed
halved buried under the thick snow only just able to slide in through the
cracked window ripping arm open and then started to block it up with the
equipment in the shed. The Captain new the wolf's would not give up that
easy so for next 4 and a half hours he fixed his arm with some old
bandages the shed and the wolf's were digging away at the damaged old shed
and then they just stopped!
"Huumm"
The Captain said to himself wondering why they stop, suddenly! He heard
the wolf squealing in fear he and about waited 5 minutes and started to
take down the blockade as soon as he stood up out side he saw why the
wolf's ran off "WEEHEE SCRAM-SCRAM!". The strange man was screaming
chasing them on his tricked out bob sled with its red flames and the
engraving of SNOWMABEEL! "Howdy stranger what's a guy like u doing in a
place like this"
"Great a hillbilly in Antarctica just what I need" he whispered to himself
What yours name the captain asked "Well" but before he could say the
wolves came back more angry so the Captain threw the hillbilly at them and
rode off on the SNOWMABEEL! Watching as they tear him limb by limb. It was
tough for the Captain to bear but he just kept riding away on his now
stolen machine the captain new that he need some rest so he came across an
igloo inside were two Eskimos so he slept in there for the
night............The next morning he didn't stop day in and day out
ridding till his heart stopped but ahead with a peek of his eye was a old
base "People" he said to himself then at full throttle he charged down the
hill in a blink of an eye the SNOWMABEEL! Ignited so he jumped and watch
it roll down the hill and finally BOOM "THERE SHE GOES" the captain
thought to himself. Without the SNOWMABEEL! The captain new it would take
at least a day of constant walking so he did just to find out this base
was a deserted one is well so in anger he smashed down the nearest door,
only to find out this was the communication office with a working radio
(static sound) "come in any one there come in I've been stranded for a
week now help me. Over" (noise again) "where is your current location.
Over" "hum I'm in a base it says the southern pole experiment base" he
replayed desperately " Ok well send a rescue squad to your coordinates
immediately" he demanded through the radio. For next day the captain was
living off the rats and the maggots but forgetting this was a experimental
lab the rats he was eating were toxic rats which ended up killing him
instantly. When the rescue team arrived it was too late the Captain was
dead with rats eating away at his skin and the maggots popping out of his
eye holes and head eating every last piece of him.

My Goals

My goal for reading was to increase my reading age to 12.5. I have achieved my goal and now want to increase it by another year. To do this I will need to read more, have more confidence in myself and concentrate more while reading.
To improve my writing I need to write more (add more detail) and make sure I put in 100% while I am writing.
My goal for mathematics was to consistently score 100% during basic facts. I have nearly reached this however I continue to make silly mistakes meaning I score 99%. I need to make sure I check my answers and not make silly mistakes while taking the test.

1. What is Matariki and what are all its other names?
Maori New Year, Seven Sisters, Matariki, Pleisdes Star Cluster
2. How did Maori use it in more traditional times, like when they were travelling the Pacific or trying to survive in early Aotearoa hundreds of years ago before Pakeha came here?
The Maori used Matariki was used for the crop planting and traveling(navigating).
3. What significance does it have in other cultures from history?
The stars indicated if the crops would grow good for allot of countries and the U.K was one apparently.
